Espanyol's Luis Garcia On Aston Villa's Radar - Report
The Villans are hoping to land the Spain international striker with a bid of €5.9 million...
Apparently, the Villans are hoping to land the 28-year-old 5ft 11in forward, who can play on the wing or operate as a striker, for a fee of around €5.9 million (£5m).
However, the Midlands-based club may face competition for the nine-time capped Spain international from Portuguese giants Porto, who are said to have identified him as the ideal replacement for Lyon-target Lisandro Lopez.
Luis Garcia began his career in the youth ranks at Real Madrid, but although he scored 38 goals in 73 games for their 'B' team, he failed to break into the first-team.
Following spells with Real Murcia and Real Mallorca, the Oviedo-born star moved to the Barcelona-based club in 2005, and to date he has scored 39 goals in 155 appearances for los Periquitos.
