Transfer Rumours And Round-Up: June 22-23

Goal.com sees who the busiest teams were on the first day of business this week...

Inter look to have wrapped up a deal for Twente's Marko Arnautovic with sources close to the player confirming that the delayed transfer is now resolved. The Austrian has been described as the new Zlatan Ibrahimovic, which could be handy for the Beneamata as the Swede, as well as Maicon, will reportedly move on this summer.

Across town, AC Milan have been frustrated in their attempts to sign Edin Dzeko; Wolfsburg have finally slapped a 'not for sale' tag on their star forward. With Andrea Pirlo said to be considering a move to Carlo Ancelotti's Chelsea, the rumour-mill is rife with talk of replacements. Either Felipe Melo of Fiorentina or Fernando Gago of Real Madrid could move to San Siro to take up the World Cup winner's mantle.

At Juventus, David Trezeguet has declared himself untransferable, while the Old Lady's attempt to prise Giuseppe Rossi from Villarreal could be frustrated by Milan.

In the capital, Daniele de Rossi, who has declared his intent to remain with Roma, has nonetheless been linked with Barcelona, who are ready to move on from Javier Mascherano.

The Blaugrana could sign Robinho though, with reports suggesting that the Manchester City star wishes to move to Camp Nou.

At Robinho's former club, Real Madrid, Ruud van Nistelrooy would prefer to stay where he is rather than move to Tottenham Hotspur while the Blancos have inserted a €200 million minimum-fee release clause in the contract of Cristiano Ronaldo, who will sign by June 30.

Some of the €95-odd million that Manchester United will receive for the Portugal captain could be thrown towards Lyon, with the French side allegedly ready to accept an Old Trafford bid for Karim Benzema. Also, United have made contact with Douglas Costa's agent. The Gremio hot-shot could link with compatriots Fabio and Rafael da Silva, as well as Anderson.

Arsenal's hopes of retaining Robin van Persie, meanwhile, have been augmented with news that the Dutchman is ready to sign a new deal at the Emirates.

Manchester City are on the brink of securing the signature of Roque Santa Cruz of Blackburn Rovers; that deal should be announced in the next 24 hours pending a medical.* Carlos Tevez is expected to follow suit later this week.

Newcastle's Michael Owen, though, may be heading for altogether less salubrious surroundings with the news that Hull City are ready to pay his wage demands. Interest in the former England international has not been high since his imminent departure from St James' Park became common knowledge.

In the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich have finally signed Danijel Pranjic from Heerenveen following a hitch and Schalke's Orlando Engelaar has been reunited with former coach, Fred Rutten, at PSV. Hamburg's Piotr Trochowski will be staying where he is though; the German international has decided to stay put after a disagreement with the higher-ups at the club.

*Around an hour after publication, Roque's deal went through.
