Burnley Preparing Swoop For Rabiu Afolabi - Report
The Premier League new-boys are looking to bolster their ranks by signing the Nigeria international defender...
The Clarets are able to snap up the 29-year-old on a free transfer after he decided to leave French Ligue 1 outfit Sochaux at the end of the 2008-09 campaign.
The 6ft defender recently signalled his intention to continue plying his trade in Europe, claiming that he had received offers from clubs in Spain, Germany and Turkey.
The ten-time capped Nigeria international, who has scored one goal for the Super Eagles, has already had spells in Belgium with Standard Liege, in Italy with Napoli, and in Austria with Austria Vienna.
Afolabi made 122 first-team appearances for Les Lionceaux, finding the back of the net on five occassions.
