According to a report in the British tabloid The Daily Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur are in talks with Real Madrid for Arjen Robben, Gabriel Heinze and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

Apparently, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has travelled to Spain and is locked in negotiations with Los Blancos' sporting director, Miguel Pardeza.

It is thought that the north London-based outfit are looking to complete a transfer of the trio in exchange for a fee of €42.6 million (£36m).

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp, it is claimed, had identified Ruud van Nistelrooy as his number one target, but Levy is reluctant to meet his €106,500-a-week wage demands (£90,000) because he missed most of last season with a knee injury.

It was reported on Tuesday that Los Merengues were ready to offload at least nine players as they look to recuperate more transfer funds in the hope of landing Bayern Munich's Franck Ribery and Valencia's David Villa.
