thumbnail Hello,

Florentino Perez has officially announced that Franck Ribery is another one of his transfer targets...

Kaka might be hogging all the headlines this week but Real Madrid are well underway on securing a move for Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery, if the latest reports are to be believed.

According to Sky Sports, Los Blancos president Florentino Perez is eager to make a move as soon as possible, having publicly declaring his interest in the wing-wizard to French paper L'Equipe today.

"It would be an immense satisfaction to be able to have Ribery with us" boomed Perez.

"But first of all I have to speak to his current club, Bayern Munich. Over the coming days, I will get in touch with my friends Karl-Heinz Rummenigge (Bayern's chairman) and Uli Hoeness (manager) to ask them what they plan to do with Ribery."

Ribery is now Perez' third target after Kaka and Xabi Alonso. It is not yet known how much the winger would cost Madrid, but earlier reports suggest that Bayern have slapped a €100 million price tag on their star asset.

Zinedine Zidane, who is an advisor to Perez, could potentially become a vital factor in bringing Ribery to the Bernabeu. The two have an excellent relationship and Zidane is known to be a big fan of his countryman.

"As an adviser, Zidane talked a lot about Ribery," Perez said. "He explained to us that (Ribery) would correspond perfectly to Real Madrid's philosophy. And we listened to him."

Real Madrid have been interested in Ribery for over a year, but now with Perez at the helm, a move is looking more and more likely. Still, there will be a continental battle for Ribery as several other European hotshots are seeking his signature.
