Inter looked set to sign Marko Arnautovic from Twente last week but the Austrian international striker picked up a stress fracture in his right foot and, as a result, the Serie A giants wish to sign him only on a temporary basis.
They will then evaluate the situation next January and decide whether to make the move permanent for a fee of €10 million.
The Eredivisie club is said to be wary of this type of deal because they were planning to cash in on their prized asset in the summer. But they are allegedly being forced into accepting Inter’s bid by Arnautovic, who has already set his sights on a move to Milan to play under Jose Mourinho.
Inter expect a final answer by Wednesday and Peter Baars, Arnautovic’s agent, is ready to travel to the peninsula to complete the negotiations.
