Sampdoria sporting director Giuseppe Marotta has rubbished reports claiming Inter were in talks with Antonio Cassano with a view to sign him.
Earlier reports suggested the Nerazzurri were planning to negotiate a way of landing 'Il Talentino'. However, any hopes Jose Mourinho may have had were dashed as Marotta insists the Italian ace is staying in Liguria.
"Cassano to Inter? Cassano is a player on everybody's lips these days, but to be honest, there is nothing concrete regarding what I have been reading," Marotta told Radio Kiss Kiss.
"There are no new plans. The relationship with Inter is good, but we have not received any contact from them regarding this situation.
"You never know what happens in football, but I hope both Cassano, and [Giampaolo] Pazzini remain here with us."
Cassano's deal expires in 2013, but Inter would have to pay the Blucerchiati €18 million to buy out his contract.
