Bolton Wanderers To Lodge Bid For Portsmouth's Sylvain Distin – Report
The Trotters will offer £3 million for the 31-year-old French defender...
According to a report in the British tabloid The Sun, Bolton Wanderers are set to raid Premier League rivals Portsmouth during the close-season for the signature of Sylvain Distin.
The versatile 6ft 3in defender, who can play as a centre-back as well as a left-back, admitted after Pompey's final game of the season on Sunday that he is unsure where his future lies.
The 31-year-old has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur, where he would link-up with Harry Redknapp, who was responsible for taking him to Fratton Park from Manchester City.
However, it is claimed that Trotters boss Gary Megson is leading the race for the Frenchman and will lodge a £3 million offer to acquire his services.
Since moving to Portsmouth in 2007, Distin has made 93 appearances for the south coast outfit.
