According to a report in the British broadsheet The Guardian, Tottenham Hotspur will replace Darren Bent and Roman Pavlyuchenko with Djibril Cisse this summer.

Bent and Pavlyuchenko have failed to hold down regular places in the Spurs starting XI, despite scoring 17 and 14 goals respectively this season.

With Jermain Defoe and Robbie Keane ahead of the aforementioned duo in the pecking order at White Hart Lane, it appears that the pair could be on their way from the club.

The north London outfit are expected to replace them with France international striker Cisse, who is owned by French giants Olympique de Marseille.

The former Liverpool star has been on loan at Sunderland throughout the 2008-09 campaign, however, the Mackems have opted not to sign him permanently.

Apparently, Tottenham could acquire the 27-year-old's services in exchange for around €6.8 million (£6m).

While Spurs are said to have already contacted les Phoceens, it is claimed that Blackburn Rovers and Fulham are also interested in signing the forward, who scored ten Premier League goals this season.
