Napoli could soon receive a bumper offer for striking sensation Ezequiel Lavezzi from Premier League side Manchester City, according to reports in Italian daily Il Roma.
The Eastlands outfit are reportedly prepared to offer the Argentine international a lavish contract worth €3.5 million per year and could table a bid in the region of €20m for the Napoli talisman. It is also reported that Roberto Mancini may be behind the swoop - the former Inter boss is rumoured to be poised to take over from City manager Mark Hughes at the end of the season.
Rumours in the peninsula have recently suggested that Lavezzi has voiced his discontent with life in Naples during a telephone conversation with compatriot Diego Milito and is considering a move away from the San Paolo.
The 23-year-old has become a cult figure in the port city since moving from Argentine club San Lorenzo in the summer of 2007 and is allegedly growing frustrated at his lack of freedom. He has previously claimed that the fans besiege him whenever he leaves the house.
Lavezzi is currently sidelined with a thigh strain and might only return to action for the final game of the season, when Napoli host Chievo at the San Paolo.
