Despite Italian media claiming that Parma were close to signing the wing-back, Filipas will land in Italy for talks with Lazio on Sunday.
Press reports suggested at the beginning of the month that Serie B outfit Parma had agreed terms with Estudiantes to bring Marcos Angeleri to the Stadio Tardini this summer, but there is now a new twist and the Argentine team’s chairman, Ruben Filipas, has revealed that Lazio have first refusal on the 26-year-old.
“We want to listen to all those who are interested in Marcos,” he said to Cielosports. “But first of all we will travel to Rome and hear Lazio’s proposal.”
The Aquile have been tracking Angeleri for several months and president Claudio Lotito is reportedly ready to put €3.5 million on the table to land the Argentine international.
Other clubs keen on the right-back are Porto and Sevilla and there were reports last week that Greek side Panathinaikos had joined the hunt.
According to Lalaziosiamonoi, Filipas and club accountant Daniel Pantaleo will arrive in Rome on Sunday.
