thumbnail Hello,

The much sought after defender was delighted with his team's 4-0 thrashing of Cruzeiro on Wednesday...

Estudiantes de La Plata are still on course for a place in the knockout round of the Copa Libertadores after crushing Cruzeiro in Argentina.

Marcos Angeleri admitted to being "delighted" with his team's performance, after a difficult last few weeks. Estudiantes needed to win the game at all costs.

As well as this, Angeleri stressed the importance of getting "back on track" in the Argentine Clausura Championship, where his side are currently languishing in 19th position of the 20-team league.

"We are happy, it was one of our most important matches, we depended on that match for our qualification and we managed to get the right result," Angeleri told TyC Sports.

The Argentine international affirmed that their next "objective" is to "try to pick up as many points as possible in the league to get out of this situation" where Estudiantes "don't deserve to be."

On Sunday, Estudiantes will clash with Argentine Apertura champions Boca Juniors at the Cuidad de La Plata stadium.

In reference to a possible move to Europe, Angeleri stated that his agent and directors of Estudiantes will travel to the continent to talk to the clubs who have shown an interest in the player.

Angeleri explained that he feels like at home at Estudiantes, but moving to Europe would be a big step in his "profession."

"The fans understand that one wants to progress, they have always understood this with the players who have left the club."
