It seems the Estudiantes winger is not for sale but the Argentinians may have things they want to discuss with the Biancocelesti...
Marcos Angeleri has interested Lazio for sometime now, but at the moment tthe progress of the deal is held up by confusion and the mixed messages emanating from the concerned parties.
Estudiantes’ president, Ruben Filipas confirmed, according to Itasportpress.it, that the club had refused an offer from Portuguese side Porto, and that he himself was coming to Italy to talk to the Biancocelesti.
It seemed then that the deal for Angeleri was close to completion but now his agents have stepped in.
Miguel Pires and Fernando Hidalgo both claimed, “He will not be sold by Estudiantes, and he is certainly not going to Lazio.
“His price seems to go down by the day, and the club need at least €3.8 million for him.
“There will be better offers than Lazio’s. We are actually going to Rome to talk about [Mauro] Zarate, [Juan Pablo] Carrizo and [Cristian] Ledesma."
It remains to be seen which of them is telling the truth. The meeting should take place sometime next week.
