Napoli Targeting Argentine Youngster Ever Banega – Report

The Partenopei are looking towards further South American influence in the squad...

Ever Banega - Valencia
Napoli are looking for personnel to improve their team as an inconsistent season draws to a close. The southern Italian club would like to upgrade their results next season and it appears they have already shortlisted one possible addition in the form of Ever Banega.

Currently playing with Atletico Madrid and co-owned by Valencia, he is viewed as the ideal choice to shore up the Napoli midfield, according to Calciomercato.

The 20-year-old has already won a Copa Libertadores, a Spanish Cup, the FIFA World Under-20 tournament in Canada and a gold medal at the Beijing Olympics in his young career. He is considered an extremely bright prospect for the future.

The only obstacle would seem to be Banega’s high price-tag, however with Valencia in such dire financial straights a deal is not out of the question. However, any transfer would likely be at least in the range of €12 million.

When asked about a possible move to Napoli recently, the Argentine seemed to be in favour of it. “We will talk about these things with my agent in June. I know [striker Ezequiel] Lavezzi and it would be nice to play in a former team of the great Maradona.”

Banega has made 20 appearances for Los Colchoneros in all competitions this season.
