According to firenzeviola.it, the latest name to come to the attention of sporting director Pantaleo Corvino is Olympique de Marseille's combative midfielder, Modeste M'Bami.
The player has been touted as a possibility to fill a central midfield role under Cesare Prandelli, who wants reinforcements in the position due to the disappointing performances of Sergio Almiron and Marco Donadel this season.
The Cameroon international has made nearly 30 appearances for his country, scoring seven times. He arrived in Ligue 1 in 2003, signing for Paris Saint-Germain; three years later he made the switch to Marseille.
The player recently voiced his desire for more playing time in January, concerned about losing his spot in the national team and missing out on the African World Cup qualifiers.
