Zenit St Petersburg captain Anatoliy Tymoshchuk has hinted at the possibility of a move to a bigger European club in the January transfer window, with the Premier League being his possible destination.

The Ukrainian midfielder is widely touted as one of the best players in the Russian Premier League, but has hinted that a move away from the Russia could happen and has said he will think about his future more when the current season in Russia finishes next weekend.

Tymoshchuk, 29, has been with the UEFA Cup holders Zenit since his move from Shakhtar Donetsk last year, and is now seemingly angling for a move to a bigger club with bigger Champions League ambitions.

When asked by Sky Sports whether he would leave Zenit in the January transfer window, Tymoshchuk replied, "I made my decision a while ago, though I won't tell you for the moment.

"When definite steps are taken by me, by other clubs or by our club [Zenit], when the transfer window opens, then I will discuss it.

"At the moment I have other things to think about. We have four very important matches ahead of us.

"That's what I'm thinking about at the moment."

The Ukrainian defensive midfielder has also hinted at his favoured destinations if he were to move, commenting, "I have a favourite team in all of the big European leagues. And speaking hypothetically, you would want to go to a club which you like.

"In Italy it's Juventus, in Spain Barcelona, and in England Manchester United."

This could just be one of the big transfers including Zenit this January, with Andrei Arshavin and Pavel Pogrebnyak also hinting at moves abroad, specifically to England, where Tottenham, Newcastle and Manchester City have been rumoured to be interested in all three players.
