Goal.com looks back at this week’s first Copa Libertadores quarter-final tie…
Guadalajara Chivas 3 – 0 Libertad
Guadalajara Chivas managed to record the same 3-0 scoreline against Libertad as they did in their home leg with Vélez Sarsfield in the previous round.
Once again Omar Bravo was amongst the goals as he nodded home a free-kick from the left to break the deadlock just nine minutes into the contest. Chivas then went on to double their lead on the half hour mark when Michel Vázquez smashed home a right-footed rocket from the edge of the box.
Early in the second half Libertad were handed the perfect opportunity to get back into the game but Roberto Gamarra penalty kick was saved by Liborio Vicente Sánchez. Libertad were then made to pay 10 minutes from time when Omar Bravo sneaked past Adalberto Román to make it 3-0.
The two teams meet again for the second leg in Paraguay on May 18th with Libertad praying for a miracle.
