Samuel Eto'o ruled out of Inter's Coppa Italia clash against Roma

Injury forces Eto'o to miss semi-final first-leg while Dejan Stankovic says his side can go all the way despite poor form
Samuel Eto'o has been ruled out of Inter's Coppa Italia semi-final first-leg against Roma on Tuesday with a twisted ankle.

The Cameroon hitman suffered the injury in the 2-0 loss to Parma on Saturday and has not recovered in time to feature for the crunch clash at the Olimpico.

The Nerazzurri are desperate to turn the tables on a negative run of form with just one win in their last five games but will have to do so without their leading scorer.

Hopes of a treble have been dashed over the last week with their exit from the Champions League, and weekend loss at Parma leaving them out of touch for the Scudetto.

But, a source of hope remains for the Coppa as Inter midfielder Dejan Stankovic calls for cohesion and effort.

"The important thing is to remain united," he told Inter Channel. "We can reach our objectives and we must be realistic until it is mathematically possible. It's hard to remain in the race for the Scudetto, but we can still qualify for the Champions League.

"We have two games against Roma with a chance to reach the Coppa Italia final. We are used to winning and bringing home trophies. This moment will pass, we hope from tomorrow onwards."

Kick off is at the Olimpico tomorrow with the return leg on May 11 at San Siro.

Inter's squad for the game is as follows:

: 1 Julio Cesar, 12 Luca Castellazzi, 21 Paolo Orlandoni;

Defenders: 4 Javier Zanetti, 6 Lucio, 13 Maicon, 15 Andrea Ranocchia, 23 Marco Materazzi, 26 Cristian Chivu, 37 Marco Davide Faraoni, 55 Yuto Nagatomo

Midfielders: 5 Dejan Stankovic, 8 Thiago Motta, 10 Wesley Sneijder, 14 Houssine Kharja, 17 MacDonald Mariga, 19 Esteban Cambiasso, 20 Joel Obi, 29 Philippe Coutinho

Forwards: 7 Giampaolo Pazzini, 22 Diego Milito, 27 Goran Pandev
