The Brazilian star is currently plying his trade in Uzbekistan with Bunyodkor, but he manages to stay in touch with events at Camp Nou and enjoys watching as many matches as he can.
Having spent five years with Barcelona, between 1997 and 2002, the 37-year-old still has a strong attachment to his former club.
"I always follow them," he told Sport. "Since I left Camp Nou they have been my great weakness.
"Barca left a mark on me, they made great impression, and I have been delighted with all the success that they have had.
"What [coach] Pep Guardiola has done has been fantastic, incredible. Not just the trophies, but above all the style of play.
"You see this team and your mouth waters. They have always had the tradition of playing this type of attacking football though.
"But this team is now a reference for everyone around the world."
Rivaldo has been revelling in his time in Uzbekistan, scoring more than a goal every two matches as he helped his side to the league title.
"I really like it here and have two years left on my contract, which I intend to complete," he continued.
"They treat us very well here. There is a small colony of Brazilians and we spend a lot of time together."
