Luis Fabiano - Sevilla (Marca)
Despite the rigours of the first leg, a strong Sevilla side had few problems disposing of Ponferradina, champions of last season's Segunda B Group 2.

No fewer than 300 fans of the León side traveled the 750km south to Andalucia for this game, but they were to be disappointed after Luis Fabiano opened the scoring 29 minutes in.

The goal, which had been coming for a while, came after the Brazilian was put through one on one with Alejandro thanks to Romaric's superb pass; the striker made no mistake.

He and Fredi Kanouté both had chances to extend the lead before the break, but in fact it was four minutes after the interval that the next goal came.

Fabiano ruffled the back of the net again, this time with a beautiful lob launched after he spotted Alejandro off his line

Finally, just after the hour mark, he managed a third from Renato's assist.

The game was over as a contest by then, but Sevilla had their chances until the end of the match.

In fact they managed to take one. Enzo Maresca made it four, to the delight of the home fans who hadn't taken the opportunity to leave a few minutes early after a sure-fire win.
