More injury worries for Vidal

The versatile midfielder is being plagued by knee problems once again and is likey to miss Chile's game against Haiti as a result

Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal is expected to miss Chile's international friendly against Haiti on September 10 due to recurring knee problems.

The 27-year-old underwent knee surgery ahead of the 2014 World Cup, but recovered in time to feature at this summer's tournament as Chile made it to the round of 16.

Nevertheless, his right knee is now again causing him some discomfort and he is set to leave the Chile camp after Friday's friendly against Mexico, thus missing the Haiti clash.

"Arturo is feeling some discomfort in his knee again and we are talking about the possibility of sending him back to his club after the match against Mexico," Sergio Jadue, president of the Chilean football association, told reporters.

"But the rest of the squad will remain here for both games."

Vidal featured for 85 minutes in Juventus' 1-0 win over Chievo at the weekend as the Serie A champions kicked off the 2014-15 season.
