The Japan international has been in fine form during pre-season and the Rossoneri coach is confident he will shine on the right wingAC Milan coach Filippo Inzaghi has stressed that he never doubted Keisuke Honda in the wake of the midfielder's strong performances in pre-season.
The Japan international failed to impress in his opening six months at the club following his winter move from CSKA Moscow and there were doubts as to whether Honda would be able to succeed at Milan.
However, he has silenced his doubters for now with a string of good performances as the Serie A side prepare for the 2014-15 campaign, netting the winner in this weekend's 1-0 Tim Trophy win over Juventus.
"The game against Juventus was not his first brilliant performance this pre-season," Inzaghi told reporters.
"It has definitely helped him that he has been here for the entire pre-season, but I never had any doubts about his qualities.
"And I think that playing on the right is his natural position, where he can express himself the best."
The 28-year-old has so far made 16 appearances in all competitions for Milan, scoring twice.
