The 1982 World Cup winner believes Juventus, Roma and Napoli will lead the league this season but expects Rafael Benitez to lead his side to the Scudetto
Napoli claimed the Coppa Italia last season and finished third in Serie A, coming in seven points behind second-placed Roma and a further 17 adrift of winners Juventus.
And while Tardelli believes that the top three in Italy will be the same again this year, he feels Rafael Benitez's men will come back stronger and beat Roma and Juve to the title.
"Last season's top three in Serie A still have a bit more than the other sides," Tardelli told Il Mattino.
"Roma will repeat their success, as they were strong on the transfer market. But we don't know how well they will handle playing in both Serie A and the Champions League.
"As for the Scudetto, I am betting on Napoli. They have two things the others do not: a huge crowd and huge enthusiasm."
When asked how he thinks Napoli will get on in their Champions League playoff match with Athletic Bilbao, the 1982 World Cup winner replied: "I think they’ll manage it."
