Keisuke Honda is keen to guide AC Milan back to the Champions League again next season after a disappointing 2013-14 campaign.
The San Siro side beat Sassuolo 2-1 on Sunday to end the season on a positive note, but nonetheless missed out on qualification for European football as they finished this term in eighth position.
"Our objective for next season is to qualify for the Champions League again," Honda told Milan Channel.
"Although going one step further and winning the league wouldn’t be bad either..."
The Japan international joined Milan from CSKA Moscow in the January transfer window, but has so far been unable to live up to the high expectations and he has admitted that he has yet to find his best form at San Siro.
"I know that people aren’t happy with me yet, but what you’ve seen so far of me isn’t a clear representation of what I’m about.
"I need to change my mentality for the World Cup and I hope the Milan fans will be patient with me until next season."
Honda has scored once in 14 Serie A appearances for Milan so far.
