Totti: Juventus not much stronger than Roma

The experienced forward remains confident that the Giallorossi are on par with the Serie A champions and has hailed Rudi Garcia's fine work

Francesco Totti has congratulated Juventus with their Serie A title, but has stressed that Roma will prove in their next encounter that they are are on par with the champions.

The Giallorossi's surprise defeat against Catania on Sunday saw the Bianconeri claim the Scudetto for the third year in succession, yet Totti is adamant that there's little to choose between both sides.

The Romans' next match comes against Antonio Conte's side at the Stadio Olimpico on May 11 and Totti has insisted the game provides a chance to show that they are worthy contenders for the title next season.

"We all know the campaign is over, but this is never a game like all the others," the veteran forward told Rai Sport.

"We will face them with the right spirit and determination to prove Juventus aren't much stronger than we are.

"There's not much I can say other than compliments to Juve for their title victory."

The Roma captain then went on to hail head coach Rudi Garcia's good work following his arrival in the Italian capital at the start of the season.

"Rudi Garcia arrived at Roma with the right mentality and transformed this side," the World Cup winner enthused. "The credit for this extraordinary campaign is above all down to him."

Roma are guaranteed second place in the Serie A table with two more games to go.
