Inter coach Walter Mazzarri believes he shares similarities with treble-winning predecessor Jose Mourinho and lauded his own achievements since joining the San Siro side.
Mourinho coached the Nerazzurri for two seasons before departing for Real Madrid on the back of a remarkable 2009-10 season which saw the Italians claim the Champions League, Coppa Italia and Serie A title.
Unsurprisingly, the Portuguese remains revered among Inter fans and Mazzarri thinks he shares plenty of characteristics with the current Chelsea boss, including the ability to distract media from focusing on his team's flaws.
"There are some similarities between Mourinho and I," the former Napoli coach mused in an interview with Il Sora 24 Ore. "Especially in making oneself a lightning rod in the most difficult moments."
Mazzarri boss also lauded his own achievements since arriving at San Siro from the San Paolo last summer.
"My history here demonstrates that, in 99 per cent of cases, the boys have made progress," he argued.
"I have plans to win the Champions League with Inter in the future."
Inter are currently fifth in Serie A - one point behind Fiorentina in fourth and one point ahead of Parma in sixth.
