The Azzuri coach is expected to return to club management after the World Cup but has rejected speculation linking him to the Italian giants

Italy coach Cesare Prandelli has played down speculation linking him to both AC Milan and Juventus next summer.

Milan have endured a poor season so far which has seen Massimiliano Allegri come under intense pressure, whilst Juventus have struggled to impose themselves in Europe despite a strong start to their domestic campaign.

Prandelli, however, has made it clear he will not be taking the helm at San Siro or Juventus Stadium after next summer's World Cup.

"Going to Juve instead of Conte or Milan instead of Allegri? Absolutely not," he told Gazzetta Dello Sport

Prandelli also made it clear he will not rule out any surprise inclusions in his squad for next summer's finals, stressing that players will only make the plane to Brazil if they sustain their form throughout the campaign and can demonstrate versatility in their play.

"In the spring we will evaluate the physical condition and the continuity of the players' performances; the choices are not only on merit but on form," he continued.

"I always try to make proactive changes rather than speculating the outcome beforehand. Against Nigeria for instance we tried some interesting things like play two central attacking midfielders.

"It is important to have versatile players, [Emanuele] Giaccherini is a player that all coaches would like as he can interpret different roles quickly while Thiago Motta is a midfielder with extraordinary technique and a great personality."
