thumbnail Hello,

The AC Milan boss has set his sights on coaching the Azzurri, although, he has no immediate plans to leave the Rossoneri

AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri has admitted that he has the ambition to take charge of Italy's national side at some point in the future.

The 46-year-old has an ongoing contract with the Rossoneri, but has stressed that it would be hard to turn down the chance to coach the Euro 2012 finalists if the opportunity ever arose.

"I have said more than once that every coach dreams of coaching the national team and that's the case for me as well," Allegri told Sky Sport Italia.

"At the moment Italy have a great coach with Cesare Prandelli, while I am very happy at Milan.

"But I can not deny that I have the ambition to take charge of Italy at some point. I'm not necessarily talking about the immediate future, but maybe in 10 years or so."

Allegri has been in charge of Milan since 2010 after previously coaching Cagliari, Sassuolo, Grosseto, Real Spal and Aglianese.
