Neither side will look back on this summer's tournament with fondness but Willie Duncan is expecting the Italian champions to come out on top against their Serie A rivals
Both sides have endured a miserable tournament and will, in fact, go head-to-head here aiming to avoid finishing in last place of the eight-team event.
Juventus were beaten 3-1 by LA Galaxy on Sunday but Antonio Conte’s men are warm favourites at 6/10 (1.60) with William Hill to bounce back in style by claiming victory over their Serie A rivals.
Walter Mazzari’s side were beaten 2-0 by Chelsea in their opening game of the tournament before being humbled 4-0 by La Liga side Valencia at the weekend and William Hill offer 18/5 (4.60) that Inter win on Tuesday night. The same firm go 13/5 (3.60) that the match ends in a draw.
The 2010 European Champions have looked a shadow of their former selves at times during this competition, failing to net a solitary goal and William Hill offer just 21/20 (2.05) that Walter Mazzari’s side are unable to hit the target against Juventus when they clash at Sun Life Stadium on Tuesday night.
Juventus will be eager to pour salt into Inter’s wounds ahead of the new Serie A season and the 8/5 (2.60) quote from William Hill for Antonio Conte’s side to lead at both half-time and full-time looks to represent decent value.
The 17/10 (2.70) on offer from the same firm for Juventus (-1) in William Hill’s handicap market is another appealing price, given how toothless Inter have been throughout the tournament thus far.
However, the defending Italian champions have also failed to hit top gear and, with that in mind, there may be merit in snapping up the 10/11 (1.91) quote from William Hill for fewer than three goals to be scored on Tuesday night.
Antonio Conte’s side, though, should have sufficient quality to squeeze past Inter here and the juicy 5/4 (2.25) quote from William Hill for Juventus to win to nil is the recommended play here.
