The 20-year-old has cast his future at Paris Saint-Germain in doubt after he suggested that he could be plying his trade in his native Italy soon
The former Pescara starlet has been repeatedly linked with a switch back to his homeland having impressed throughout les Parisiens' title-winning campaign last season, with Juventus and Napoli among those rumoured to be interested in the youngster.
However, while the Italy international remains keen on remaining in the French capital for the moment, Verratti vaguely hinted that the decision could be taken out of his hands.
Speaking to Il Centro, he said: "A few clubs want me, but it isn’t just down to myself. It depends on the club too.
"I firmly believe in the project here [with PSG] and I’m a regular here which is ideal for me.
"However, I can say with certainty that I will play in the Italian championship in the future – I just don’t know whether that will be in a few weeks or a few years."
The 20-year-old rose through the ranks at the Delfini before moving to Parc de Princes last summer.
