Chiellini: Juventus not champions yet

The Italy international has made it clear that the reigning champions must focus on their own match against city rivals Torino
Giorgio Chiellini has stressed Juventus cannot afford to get carried away in the race for the Scudetto as he feels the title race is not decided yet.

The Serie A leaders will be crowned champions if they beat Torino at the weekend and second-placed Napoli spill points against Pescara, but Chiellini has insisted there is no reason to start celebrating already.

"It’s an important game and we want to do well and win. However, with all due respect to Pescara, I don’t think Napoli will drop points," Chiellini said at a press conference.

"We mustn’t think about celebrating or pay attention to matters which are unrelated to the game. It’s important we stay alert.

"It would be madness to underestimate our opposition, but I don’t think any of us will be doing that. We mustn’t let up in our quest for the Scudetto.

"Yes, the title’s near, but until you reach it there’s always hope for the chasing pack."

Sunday's Turin derby is scheduled to kick off at 15:00CET.
