The former Wolfsburg star has hailed his side's performances this term in the big games and admitted Milan made life difficult for Juve
The Scudetto holders beat third-placed AC Milan 1-0 on Sunday evening to maintain their 11-point lead over Napoli, and Barzagli insists Juventus have been even more convincing than last term.
"We’ve won extremely difficult away games, against Inter and Lazio for example, and now [at home] against Milan. We deserve to be top of the league," Barzagli was quoted as saying on the official Juventus website.
"At times last season, also when playing at home, we struggled to break the deadlock. However, this year we’ve managed to bring more intensity to our displays and make the best of the chances created."
The centre-back then reflected on Sunday's hard-fought win over Milan and admitted things were not easy for Juve.
"It was a very difficult game, at least in the first half. Milan made us chase them, moved the ball around well and we weren’t particularly aggressive," Barzagli added.
"We upped the tempo after the interval and things changed."
Juventus resume Serie A action on Sunday when they travel to city-rivals Torino.
