Galliani: Allegri welded to Milan bench
The 2011 Serie A champions have made it clear that they have no intention of letting go their coach amid strong interest from Roma
AC Milan CEO Adriano Galliani has insisted head coach Massimiliano Allegri will not leave the Rossoneri any time soon as he is "welded to the Milan bench".The 45-year-old has attracted the interest of Roma, who have made Allegri their No.1 trainer target as they are looking for a permanent replacement for the recently fired Zdenek Zeman, but Milan have no intention of letting their coach leave.
"The future of our coach? He's staying put. He's welded to the Milan bench with a blowtorch," Galliani told reporters.
The Milan supremo then went on to dismiss suggestions that promising youngster Stephan El Shaarawy is severly struggling with his form.
He added: "The Faraone is not in crisis. It's part of a forward's life that he occasionally scores a bit less. Just look at what happened to Edinson Cavani."
El Shaarawy has netted 16 goals in 28 Serie A appearances this term, but he has scored only twice in his last 11 league games.
