De Sciglio: Milan cannot afford to lose focus
The promising defender has rallied the troops ahead of Sunday's match at the Giuseppe Meazza with the side aiming for second place in the table
AC Milan youngster Mattia De Sciglio has stressed that the Rossoneri cannot afford to lose concentration if they are to get a good result against Palermo at the weekend. The San Siro side were eliminated from the Champions League by Barcelona on Tuesday, but De Sciglio has urged his team-mates to move on from their European exit and turn their focus to Serie A again.
"It’s true that you might have a drop in concentration levels after a game like the one we had against Barcelona, but we know we can’t let that happen and that’s why we’re focused on Palermo," De Sciglio told Milan Channel.
"The fact that Palermo have changed their coach might give them something of a push, they need points if they’re to stay in Serie A. They’re a tough team and we shouldn’t make the mistake of looking at the league standings.
"We have to play as if we were up against Lazio or Inter. Palermo will try and hit us on the counter attack and we can’t afford to slip up when we have the ball. We’ll have to play a good game technically speaking."
Sunday's encounter is scheduled to kick off at 15:00CET.
