Cristante inks AC Milan extension until 2018
The highly-rated youngster has signed a new long-term deal with the San Siro giants as he aims to secure regular first team football in the upcoming years
AC Milan have successfully concluded contract negotiations with promising midfielder Bryan Cristante, according to their official website. The 18-year-old has signed a new deal with the Rossoneri that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2018, much to the delight of club CEO Adriano Galliani.
"It's clear that with such a young player we offered a long-term contract," Galliani told reporters, before comparing Cristante's situation to that of Kaka and Stephan El Shaarawy in the past.
"Kaka was here for six years with six different contracts. El Shaarawy is in his third year and on his third contract. It's all up to them.
"They get contracts as young players, and then it's up to them to improve and to grow in order to earn a new deal."
Cristante is seen as one of the biggest talents to have come through the Milan youth academy in recent years and made his official first team debut at the age of 16.
