The Argentine midfielder has hailed his side's victory over the Sicilians and is optimistic about the Nerazzurri's chances in Serie A
Esteban Cambiasso believes that this weekend's 3-2 comeback win over Catania could prove to be a vital moment in Inter's season as they aim to qualify for next year's Champions League.Head coach Andrea Stramaccioni's men appeared to be in trouble when they fell 2-0 behind before the interval, but one goal from Ricky Alvarez and two from Rodrigo Palacio eventually helped the Nerazzurri to the full three points, much to the delight of Cambiasso.
"Can this be a key moment in our season? It was crucial because Catania would have gone above us. Now, though, it's positive, and it gives us confidence for the next few matches," the midfielder told Sky Sport Italia.
"I'd say the squad is tight because you can only win a match like this if you are all together. I've learned that in Italy often a side that's on edge is a winning side.
"In football, people tend to talk too much about fitness, but often the psychological aspect counts for more. Now we hope to find consistency because, aside from Juventus, no other side has this strength."
Inter climbed to fourth spot in the table following this weekend's results, one point off city rivals AC Milan in third.
