Niang: I had to change to succeed at Milan
The promising youngster is eager to make the most of his time at Milan and will not let his antics off the pitch get in the way of his career
M'Baye Niang has stressed that he is determined to succeed at AC Milan and realises that he will have to change his behaviour off the pitch in order to achieve just that. The 18-year-old joined Milan from Caen at the start of the 2012-13 campaign, and has since made the headlines for the wrong reasons more than once.
Nevertheless, Niang has developed into a first team regular in the past few months, and he has made it clear that he will do whatever it takes to become a hit at the Rossoneri.
"There's a different mentality here in Italy than back home in France. You have to be more professional here," Niang to Corriere della Sera.
"I have to solely focus on football and be careful what I do off the pitch. Adriano Galliani got angry with me after a few incidents and he helped me realise that I had to change.
"Milan are my big chance and I cannot just throw this away. I have to make the most of this opportunity and become an important player for Milan."
Niang has made eight Serie A appearances so far, but has yet to find the net.
