Niang: I was mental when I first joined AC Milan

After a difficult start with the Rossoneri, the France Under-21 international says he has now adjusted to life in Italy
AC Milan forward M'Baye Niang has revealed he was "a little mental" when he first joined the club, but says he has now adapted to life at San Siro. The youngster made the move to the Rossoneri from French side Caen in July 2012, for a reported fee in the region of €3 million, and after a period of transition he is confident he now understands the Italian way of life.
"At first I was a little mental, but now I understand how it works in Italy and I've calmed down," he told RMC Sport.
"I have learned to pay attention to my lifestyle to avoid injury. At the beginning, I had something to prove, and I have started to do that [now].
Having been used sparingly during the first half of the campaign, the 18-year-old has featured heavily since the turn of the year and he admits he is happy to now have the chance to express himself.
He added: "It's going great, now I'm playing, I'm super happy. The hard work is beginning to pay off but there is a lot of competition so I know I must keep it up.
Milan currently sit fourth in Serie A, 12 points behind table-toppers Juventus.
