Faurlin optimistic over Palermo move
The Argentine midfielder has expressed his joy at his loan move from QPR, and has stated that he always expected the move to happen despite lengthy negotiations
Alejandro Faurlin has spoken of his delight at his loan move from QPR to Palermo, and believes that he will settle in quickly. The Argentine midfielder had struggled for first-team football upon his return after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament following the signings of Esteban Granero and the form of a resurgent Adel Taarabt, along with some indifferent form of his own.
The 26-year-old decided that a loan switch would be beneficial as it would enable him to play, and is pleased to be at the Serie A side.
"There are many Argentines in Palermo and that is a positive aspect that will help me to settle in quickly," he told reporters at a press conference.
"My new team-mates have been very helpful. I'm fine and I'm ready to play on Sunday against Atalanta."
The central midfielder also stated that while talks between the two clubs were lengthy and the deal only went through on deadline day, he always had faith that the switch would happen.
"It was a long negotiation process with my agent, but I always believed the move would go through."
