Benassi: Inter debut an unforgettable experience
The promising midfielder is overjoyed with his first league appearance for the Giuseppe Meazza side, but is not getting carried away following his recent first team bow
Inter starlet Marco Benassi says he will never forget his Serie A debut for the Nerazzurri, but realises that he still has a long way to go.The Giuseppe Meazza side recently acquired full ownership of the midfielder after he impressed on his league debut against Pescara, and Benassi is overjoyed to be part of the first team.
"My league debut against Pescara, when my team-mates came over to me at the end. What an unforgettable experience," Benassi told Inter Channel.
"I phoned my parents in the morning, straight after the coach told me I was going to play, but I asked them not to tell anyone. I was so happy. The San Siro is the best stadium there is.
"It's a great honour to wear the Inter shirt but I need to keep my feet on the ground: this is only the start, I've still got a long way to go. I need to progress, improve and work really hard."
The 18-year-old has made five official appearances for Inter so far this season.
