Giaccherini: It is big news if Juventus do not win
By Stefan Coerts
Jan 25, 2013 8:14:00 AM
The attacking midfielder realises the Bianconeri are always expected to emerge victorious, and has stressed that they are keeping their feet on the ground in their hunt for success
Emanuele Giaccherini has acknowledged the high expectations at Juventus after they set the bar high for themselves last season by winning the Serie A title without losing a single game. The Scudetto holders were beaten by Sampdoria in their first league match after the winter break, while they were held to a draw by Parma in their next game, and they received plenty of criticism following their dip in form earlier this year.
"Last year, we picked up a record number of points and were undefeated in a victorious Serie A campaign. So obviously when we don’t win, it’s big news," Giaccherini was quoted as saying on the club's official website.
"We dream of being able to win everything but we’re keeping our feet firmly on the ground and we’re concentrating on our next game.
"We have a five-point lead on Lazio and Napoli and we’re in the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia."
Juve are currently preparing for Saturday's Serie A match at home against Genoa.
