Allegri targets top-three finish
The 45-year-old hopes that his AC Milan can close the nine-point gap with Lazio in the remainder of the season and secure Champions League football for next term
Massimiliano Allegri remains hopeful that AC Milan can secure a top-three finish this season in order to qualify for the Champions League. The Rossoneri have climbed to sixth spot in the table after a disastrous start to the 2012-13 campaign, and Allegri is pleased with the way they have bounced back in recent months.
"We are going through a good moment where we are doing well. After our initial struggles where we lost many points, we’re getting better," he told Sky Sport 24.
"When things go against you it is tough, but let’s see where we can finish in this campaign. Now the club have decided what they want in the future, and short term we want to get in to the top three even though it won’t be easy.
"We have to concentrate on what we are doing, and seeing as we are still a new squad we have to keep improving day by day, but at the same time have to be realistic."
Milan are currently preparing for Sunday's Serie A trip to Atalanta.
