Bologna boss Pioli targets Milan upset
The Rossoblu boss plans to continue his side's habit of causing upsets by earning a shock result against the Rossoneri
Bologna coach Stefano Pioli has stated that his side will look to play their own game and cause an upset when they face Milan on Sunday.Pioli's side have already shocked superior teams this season, defeating third-placed Napoli in both Serie A and the Coppa Italia, and the Rossoblu coach is looking for a repeat performance against Massimiliano Allegri's Milan.
“You prepare for Milan with sharpness, concentration and focus, especially as they have been on a positive run," the 47- year-old said in a press conference.
“A difficult match awaits us, but with the right attitude and more precision, we [can] play our game.”
Although Bologna will enter the fixture on the back of a 3-2 Coppa Italia extra-time defeat by Inter, Pioli insisted that the result will help them when they take on the Rossoneri.
“The disappointment at the Coppa result had vanished by Wednesday morning.
"However, we bring with us the performance against Inter and the knowledge we played one of our best games of the season."
Bologna currently lie four points clear of the relegation places in Serie A and will be looking to extend that gap when they face Milan on 20 January.
