Cannavaro: Juventus the strongest team in Serie A

The former Italy international believes the Scudetto holders remain the team to beat and has little doubt they will return to winning ways right away

Fabio Cannavaro has voiced his opinion that Juventus are the strongest team in Serie A and is confident that they will bounce back from their surprise 2-1 loss at home to Sampdoria.

The Turin giants cruised to the domestic title without losing a single game last term, and once more sit atop of the table this season as they hold a five-point lead over second-placed Lazio after 19 games.

"Juventus are the strongest team in the league. They will bounce back from the loss [against Sampdoria]. They are mentally very strong," Cannavaro told reporters.

"Juve have already shown this season that they have more continuity than the other teams and they have more hunger for success.

"They will obviously have a few difficult moments, because they are without a player like [Giorgio] Chiellini. I'm sure they will return to winning ways right away, though."

Juventus take on AC Milan in the Coppa Italia on Wednesday.
