Inter's Sneijder to miss Milan derby

The Dutchman limped off the field during the Nerazzurri's recent victory over Chievo, and it has been revealed he will miss up to four weeks of action including the Rossoneri tie
Inter midfielder Wesley Sneijder has been sidelined by a thigh injury, ruling him out of the upcoming Milan derby.

The Dutchman left the field prematurely in the Nerazzurri's recent 2-0 victory over Chievo, and tests have now confirmed the former Real Madrid man has sustained a second degree thigh tear. The 27-year old will likely return to action in four weeks' time, but will miss the derby match against Milan on October 7 as a result.

Sneijder took to Twitter on Saturday to express his appreciation for the support he has received, ensuring fans the injury will not pose a long term problem.

"Good morning everyone... I will work hard to get back soon and even stronger!!! Thanks for all the support!!! Appreciate that..." the playmaker said.

The Netherlands captain will also miss out on the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Romania, but will be hopeful of featuring in Inter's trip to Bologna on October 28.
