Inter coach Andrea Stramaccioni has insisted that Wesley Sneijder and Antonio Cassano are not incompatible.
Cassano and Sneijder have similar playing styles and question-marks have been raised as to whether the duo can play in the same team.
Nevertheless, Stramaccioni has little doubt that the two can complement each other.
"There's no question of them being incompatible. It's down to the coach to weigh up when to field them together and when not to," Stramaccioni stated at a press conference.
"I don't think Sneijder behind two strikers is such a far-fetched solution. I exclude this idea of them being incompatible. From game to game we'll look at whether to put out a top-heavy front three."
The Inter coach then went on to discuss the possibility of fielding a three-man defence against Chievo on Wednesday.
He added: "It's a solution we might look at. Looking at our squad and the players we have, it's reasonable to think it might help these lads to give their best performance."
Wednesday's encounter at the Stadio Bentegodi kicks off at 20:45CET.
