thumbnail Hello,

The Sardinian outfit are not amused with the Stadio Olimpico side chief's request for a default win, and have slammed his morals

Cagliari have criticised Roma director Franco Baldini following his request that the Giallorossi are awarded a 3-0 win by default after the cancellation of Sunday's match.

The Serie A encounter was prevented from going ahead after fears over safety of fans at the hosts’ new stadium, and Baldini feels Cagliari are responsible for the postponement of the game.

Nevertheless, the Sardinians are furious with Baldini's request, and have slammed the Roma man's morals.

"Cagliari understand the principles of Mr Baldini, but do not agree with them as he is trying to take advantage of our misfortune," a statement on the Cagliari website reads.

"A man with these kinds of principles is like a vulture.

"Despite Baldini’s stance, we know that he doesn’t represent the sporting spirit of the Romans, who we remain close friends with."

The Is Arenas was opened by Cagliari over the summer but is yet to pass security tests, meaning local authorities insisted the Serie A clash would take place behind closed doors.

However, club president Massimo Cellino had urged fans to ignore the authorities and attend regardless, leading to the postponement of the match.
