The 25-year-old expressed his delight at being followed closely by Cesare Prandelli and has talked about the Viola's forthcoming match against JuventusFiorentina defender Facundo Roncaglia has spoken of his hope to be called up by the Italy national team.
The Argentine-born player is eligible for the Azzurri, having ancestors from Napoli, and has revealed that he hopes his performances will be enough to warrant a call-up.
Roncaglia scored in the Viola's 1-1 draw away to Parma on Saturday, with the club moving up to fifth place in the Serie A table, and after the game he talked about his international future.
"I am happy with my individual performance, but being the first few games of the season, any result can be useful to continue our team's progress," the 25-year-old told Sky Italia.
"It will be a difficult match against Juventus on Tuesday, but we hope to gain a positive result. I am happy that Prandelli is following my progress.
"This gives me further motivation to work hard, and I hope to one day have a chance to play for Italy."
Fiorentina host the champions on Tuesday. Kick-off is at 20:45CET.
