Acerbi targets top three finish for AC Milan
The Rossoneri defender believes that the club has the potential to be successful this season, despite losing Thiago Silva and Alessandro Nesta this summer
AC Milan defender Francesco Acerbi is confident that his side can secure a top three finish, despite the loss of high-profile players such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Thiago Silva and Alessandro Nesta this summer.
The 24-year-old made his first appearance for the Rossoneri since his summer move from Chievo in their 3-1 win over Bologna, and is hoping his team can build on that result to have a positive season.
"We are Milan, and when you play in a club like this, you must play to win or finish in second or third position," the former Chievo defender told Sky Italia.
"We are a new group, and we are growing day by day. It is difficult to substitute Nesta and Thiago Silva, but I’m working hard to reach a good level."
Milan host Atalanta on Saturday as they look to build on their last victory and claim their first three points at home this season.
