Juventus pipped Siena to Bendtner signature, says Antonelli

The Danish international was close to moving to Stadio Artemi Franchi before the Serie A Champions made their late move for the striker on Friday
Siena sporting director Stefano Antonelli has revealed that Nicklas Bendtner was set to sign for the club before a last ditch bid from Juventus.The 24-year old striker had a medical in Turin on Friday ahead of a move to the Old Lady, but according to Antonelli it could all have unfolded very differently but for a late twist of fate.
"It seemed an impossible operation, but we had an agreement with Arsenal and with the player," he told Sky Sports Italia:
"It seemed like a dream, but, at one point, it looked as if we had him. The interest from Juventus changed the scenario, [however]."

“Having chosen Juve, he still phoned our president out of respect. He, and his agent, behaved in the right way," he added.

Terrific stuff from Bayern attacking midfielder Thomas Muller, the kind of socks-around-the-ankles player that I think any true football fan inherently adores.
